I have one of these 5150 computers and have concluded that the problem is not a bad a/c supply as I got another one to test the computer and also have another battery in it also. So now I am left with the proposition of making the repair to the motherboard or replacing it through one of the places advertising to do that on ebay etc.
What are my odds of ending up with a working computer? Am I wasting my time with this or what? I see no posts after about late 2007 so wondering if anyone has had any success. I tried the soldering of the chip but no luck. Still have flashing power lights (2 outside ones flash rapidly) but it will not power on nor even make an attempt to load up at all, although there were a couple of times it did seem to start to boot up for a few seconds before going on with the blinking lights.
Any suggestions? Or maybe mixing up a batch of sackcrete and then finding a nice box for it and the computer is best.................then finding a deep lake or installing a big hook in it to use as a boat anchor.
