			<description><![CDATA[ I have one of these 5150 computers and have concluded that the problem is not a bad a/c supply as I got another one to test the computer and also have another
battery in it also. So now I am left with the proposition of making the repair to the motherboard or replacing it through one of the places advertising to do
that  on ebay etc.

What are my odds of ending up with a working computer? Am I wasting my time with this or what? I see no posts after about late 2007 so wondering if anyone... ]]></description>

Customer states that it has been out of warranty for about a year, so I buy it from him dirt cheap. <br><br>So, just for giggles, I goto Dell's Online chat support and see what I can muster up. I tried a couple of cable and the same thing happened.<br>It does that since september blablabla<br>I just want to see the connection of that connnector on the motherboard. I went to the online chat and explained the overheating problem that killed my motherboard. 4 different times I was turned down because my laptop was 2 years out of warranty. However on my 5th try I got someone to actually give me a case number and a phone number to call. Eventuall after calling I was transfered to a different number. Sometimes it'll boot and work for 10 minutes, sometimes it won't boot at all. Usually putting it near the air conditioner helps. Anyway i'd already have a tech test the ram and it was fine so they told me that it is a problem with the motherboard and I have to get a new one. 			<description><![CDATA[ This series of Dell cannot be used in bed or on a rug.<br><br>These units are little vacume cleaners by design.<br>Every one I've opened up has a large wad of stuff wedged into the fan area.<br>No amount of blowing from outside will disslodge this, only compresses it.<br>It must be removed after heatsink dissasembly.<br><br>I have been able to fix some of the no power issues with these, specificly the 1150.<br>It does not have the tab hitting the chip problem but certainly has the bad power... ]]></description>
